Hi, welcome in…

My name is Paul Bradley Carr, shopkeeper at The Best Bookstore in Palm Springs.

In 2019, I quit my 20-year career as a journalist covering toxic Silicon Valley billionaires and moved to the desert to read mysteries and write thrillers. When I realized that my (otherwise flawless) new home lacked a bookstore, I opened The Best Bookstore In Palm Springs with my partner, Sarah.

In 2024, after more than a decade living in the US, I became an American citizen.

Citizen Bookseller is a blog/newsletter about being American on purpose* and a bookseller by accident.

It is completely free to read/subscribe - but if you enjoy it please consider buying a book (or, better yet, pre-ordering my book).

Let me know if I can help you find anything!
