TOMORROW IN SF: Andrea Bartz and Me in Conversation (About Bartz vs Anthropic, Thrillers, and MORE)
Anthropic employees particularly welcome.
HEY HEY!
Just a quick reminder to join me TOMORROW @ 6pm at The Best Bookstore in Union Square (226 Powell St) TOMORROW for my conversation / Q&A / book signing with the fantastic Andrea Bartz.
As you probably know, Andrea is best known for her propulsive, bestselling thrillers including her most recent - The Last Ferry Out (order it here) - in which a woman who travels to a remote, hurricane-damaged island to investigate the mysterious death of her fiancée. I absolutely LOVED this novel, and so will you.
BUT perhaps more relevantly for SF, Andrea was lead plaintiff in the Bartz vs Anthropic class action suit that secured a $1.5bn settlement from Anthropic over the company’s use of authors’ work in training their AI models.
The settlement becomes official in a San Francisco court later this week but BEFORE THAT Andrea will be at The Best Bookstore to chat to her about her books, the world of thriller writing and AI, and of course the Anthropic settlement.
(The event will also serve as the unofficial launch celebration for the paperback edition of my latest novel, The Confessions… a thriller featuring an AI trained on authors’ work that nearly destroys the world.)
The event starts at is completely free to attend but it’d be hugely helpful if you could RSVP HERE so we have an idea of numbers etc.
Look forward to seeing you tomorrow (Tuesday) in San Francisco!
Paul
