Help us celebrate Independent Bookstore Day
Cause I got a golden ticket / I've got a golden twinkle / In my eye
I have to be honest, in previous years I have been TERRIBLE at promoting Independent Bookstore Day (TOMORROW!) in the Palm Springs store.
I’m not sure how to explain the oversight except that Palm Springs this time of year is in that weird Coachella/Stagecoach slump during which downtown PS is semi-deserted.
But now we have our second store, in Union Square / San Francisco, and store manager Lillian is more than making up for lost IBD time.
Here’s just a taste of what’s in store for you at 226 Powell St tomorrow…
A SURPRISE BOOK SWAP — bring a book and we’ll swap it for another even more fun one!
CONFESS YOUR LOVE — write a love letter to your favorite store and we’ll stick it up in the store!
The GOLDEN TICKET thing is particularly fun - if you find a golden ticket (an actual gold-colored ticket) hidden somewhere in the store tomorrow, you’ll win a YEAR’S WORTH of free audiobooks from Libro.fm.
(In fact it’s so fun that we’re doing the promotion in both stores. So if you’re willing to brave the Stagecoach crowds you can try your luck in finding a golden ticket in the Palm Springs store too!)
The festivities kick off tomorrow at 10am in the Union Sq store. Come down and help us celebrate!
